2.5" ext HDD got REALLY HOT!!! Will it be fine...

Hey I have this 120GB Fujitsu 2.5" sata HDD, in a 'Hitech HDD DivX Player', the player it self is stupid, replaced it twice because of faulty connection with the composite wire and this one works fine, but heats up like hell.

I just put on a movie and left the room(to test it), no AC but ambient temps were around 20-30C max, when I got back after an hour, the HDD had hung up, the light were on (but not flickering as during movie playback). And man was it hot to the touch, maybe 70C at least. I quickly unplugged the power and let it be.

Right now, its connected to the PC and I'm running a error-check with scan for bad-sectors enabled. Seems to be fine.

I'm definitely going to return the case, what about the HDD? will it be fine after being exposed to such high temps, or do you think I should try and exchange that too.

Thanks

If there's no pressing information on it, try and exchange it, better safe then sorry, but 70c isnt bad. most HDD's run about 55-60 in crap cases. so 70 for a bit won't kill it, especially if your HDD scan shows up clean
