Upgrade.. Now or wait?

Thread Starter
Would like to upgrade my current card (see sig). I would just by another one and go SLI but the heatsink setup on these cards are massive and I just can't fit another in my rig without it being extremely cramped. Already had to buy SATA cables with 90 degree connectors to fit the one beast in.

Would it be worth it to eBay this card and grab a G92 8800GTS 512 or should I wait for the next best thing? Maybe get 2 8800GT's for SLI? Just looking for the best performance for the buck.

Been out of the game for about 6 months so I have some research to do.

Thanks guys.

In looking around, the 8800 GTS (G92) seems to have the same brick-like HSF as my current GTS 320. Crap.

If you're worried about not having enough space you can get an 8800 GT because that is a single slot cooler.

All good cards are gonna be dual slot...you could buy an aftermarket fan, which will give you more room for SATA ports and that...

the 280GTX will be out in a couple weeks, id say see what its like then make your decision...

the 8800 g92's are great cards, not sure how a single g92 would compare to sli'd gt 320's tho..

A single 8800GTS 512 G92 would do you good. Or maybe dual 8800GT's 512. There cheap and there pretty powerful. You can always wait and see for the new cards coming soon.

Didn't realize the new cards were coming out so quick. That might give me a chance to get a couple g92 core cards on the cheap. Never know.
