when you install vmware you should be able to setup a bridged network connect that the vms will use.

Check it out at the F@H forum...
I had to edit the IP address on one install for it to correctly navigate my router.
I'd suggest how but because of various OS and my limited Linux knowledge would not be of much help...
Basically there is a segment in YAST (Suse) that required the edit.
The basic edit I made where as the xx.xx.xx.xx is the router address which was used with the "bridged network'' set up. BTW, there are more spaces between ::1 and Local Host... and also between xx.xx.xx.xx and Local Host denoted by (unknown spaces) which you would see when you open the file to edit. Further more, the file had to be saved so that it would be rewritten... sorry I forget the actual command, where as if you simply save it like in Windows, it wont rewrite the file... a Linux Guru would have to elaborate on that.

::1 (unknown spaces) Localhost dhcppc5
\\xx.xx.xx.1 (unknown spaces0 Localhost dhcppc5

If you are using a wireless router. Turn off security like mac address filtering at first. Then like they said. Try either NAT or Bridged. In VMWare Player it's an icon on the top marked ethernet. Good luck
