Couldn't agree more. Its not even a matter of ATI vs. Nvidia. If ATI could manage a to snag a vendor as good as EVGA, I could see myself leaning a lot closer to them for my next purchase. But unless their cards poop all over nVidia's (which by this score, doesn't look like it), I'll have to stick with the one brand I know I can trust.

As far as the score goes, it seems legitimate, but I wouldn't consider this good news for ATI fans. Its solid for the price, considering these are pre-lim drivers. But at the same time, its not an over-the-top performer, and nothing that anyone who isn't in the 4850's price bracket will bother glancing at.

I guess its as I sort of predicted a few weeks ago, nVidia and ATI will each rule their price brackets with 100% certainty, but not much else.

Remember, these are the 4850s at 650/850mhz for the core/shaders, not 4870s at 850/1000.

Not to mention that neither of these two cards are ATI's real high-end, they are for the most part, mainstream chips
The 4870x2 will be a monster, and since its a completely new dual-gpu design that talks through the memory instead of a bridge chip, and it shares the memory bank... it should scale much, much better than even the 3870x2 did.

Could you please show GPU-Z?

My Sapphire cards come from the Hong Kong distributor, maybe I can get someone down there to tell me how many shaders the R770 really has.

If that's real then it seems to be one heck of a card considering the price tag.
