if possible, pass the signal via sviseo from the sat receiver to the pc (not sure what connections your equipment supports)

Go to the Tasks menu, click settings, and navigate to set up your MC. Make sure you select "Top Box" or something like that, then choose your provider, and it will scan for all the channels and download the guide.

Use your video card's VGA out going into your LCD TV. (You DO have an LCD TV don't you?)
Here's an example of my setup

VGA, my card doesn't even have that. DVI and HDMI and Svid only I believe. I am go from the computer to my monitor with a DVI cable. and from my sat to the computer with a coaxial cable.

FYI: I am currently not set up for anything HDMI

OK so just get a cable with DVI on 1 end and VGA on the other end for your TV. Most LCD TV's have VGA inputs.

DVI is better than VGA...

i know but most TVs dont have dvi inputs anymore since hdmi replaced dvi.
what he could do is get a dvi-hdmi adapter cable and do it that way

He has an HDMI output on his card. If he's using DVI, he doesn't need the HDMI cable. Most likely he has a set of stand alone speakers(like most entertainment centers)

I'm confused....going back to read original post. It looked to me as if he didn't know how to hook up his TV to his pooter
