I have a dieing board right now, things keep going on it, so i need a board quick and i can't wait for it to be shipped so i was looking at the prices at the local microcenter and they had that p5k. i want 500fsb because i have been waiting to get my quad and tanks to this little hickup i have to buy a board instead, so i wanted one that will be able to oc my 7x multi awful high while i wait for my quad. if this is not a good enough board here is the list of what i can get, i can't go over $199 but that msi 750i has really bad reviews

The P5K can do 500+FSB easily. However, if you can stretch your budget just a little, get the P5Q Deluxe (P45) off Newegg, it's 200ish.

Off Newegg, you could get a P5E, or Maximus Formula, and get overnight shipping on either.

The P5E will probably be the better choice as it fits in your budget better, however the Formula is an excellent board, worth every penny.

The P5E is a pretty good board.

I've seen people get over 4ghz with the xeon X3210 (2.13 stock).

I'm currently at 3.4ghz, but i'm an OC noob for the most part, and haven't stressed it at all...

Quick question regarding boards able to reach 500FSB, and I'm sorry it's slightly off topic, but will the DFI LP LT X48-T2R be able to reach 500?

Ideally, someone could make a list of boards able to reach 500FSB, but that might take a bit of work, and I only suggest it to someone who's got the time.

FOR DUAL CORES

The Asus P5Q series can get 500FSB.
The DFI P35 (All models) will reach 500FSB.
The majority of X38s can get close to 500FSB.
The majority of P35s can get close to 500FSB.

All the ASUS P5K's will hit 500mhz.
The DFI DK will hit about 540mhz and the Blood Iron has hit 570mhz
post #9 of 32
I've been able to post past 600MHz FSB on my Blood Iron, though that was not even close to stable.

550-575MHz stable is not out of the question though.

The DK can hit 600FSB if you find a good CPU
