this is for duals though, right?

anybody know anything about quads?

BTW: very informative RussianGrimmReaper

By DK do you mean the P35 versions or the X48, because i've got my eye on an DK X48, but also an LT X48, which is better?

That list was for duals. A few of P35's and P45s can take a quad to 500FSB. The X38's have a much hard time, but can still do it.

ok, did I say something stupid? is that why you're laughing?

Anyways, i take it that asus makes the best P45 board? what about gigabyte and MSI...actually i've heard bad things about MSI, so scratch them.

whats the max FSB for an X48 w/ a quad (xeon if it makes any difference...)

EDIT: Sorry, I realize that I'm somewhat jacking this thread...apologies...

ASUS hasn't had very good quality lately, I've had to RMA my motherboard twice already.

I've actually had GREAT experiences with MSI products and lately their boards have been great overclockers.

I'm more of a DFI fan but I'm sure some people will back up Gigabyte

My post was not that informative, it was a few facts that should be apart of everyone's knowledge(No offense to you or anyone who did not know). Knowing the abilities of the parts that you want to put in a computer is very important.

There are only two P45 brands out right now(I think) Asus and MSI.

An X38 is identical to the X48.
Xeons and regular quads: no difference.

I'm an OC noob, don't expect too much out of me

anyways, unfortunately, the P5Q Deluxe has only one PCI-E x16 2.0 slot, so no crossfire.

Hmm, what is the word on Biostar, they make a P45, but while i haven't heard any fantastic things about them, I've also not heard anything about any major flaws...

The P5Q Deluxe has two PCI-Express x16 slots. Neither are 2.0, in CF they will operate as 8//8.
