Messed up computer with Vista 64bit?

Hi guys i got my computer working fine now, but few days ago when i bought it i had proper bad time getting it to work with vista 64bit OEM. Basically started comp up fine, then soon as pc restart, it comes back up gives me crappy error messages saying vista aint activated. so i went online to activate, then it says it cant do that. Then all i get is messages about how my vista is not genuine nor activated, and i basically cant do anything with my comp. I came to penultimate solution and checked other methods of verifying vista by phone, and i rang up got some codes and then wahey its suddenly working?

Just wondering if anyone else had as bad an experience as this with thier vista 64bit/OEM edition?

I have Vista 64 Bit Ultimate working and have had no problems with it thus far.

Where did you buy your comp from?

Did you install the windows your self?

Did you not think you would have to activate Vista?

Do you have the product key?

it was probably just an error in the key that you were given, the chances of that are amazingly slim though, the only thing is you dont have to register the home premium version, as i have installed it on several computers and have not bee promted once, i have disabled all microsoft "spying!" tools

I bought the vista 64 and all other components from reputable company, i installed my mobo, ram, cpu etc, and then inserted vista disk, and installed it all fine and inserrted my key when prompted during installation, then it worked fine on the firts boot, soon as it restarted for updates etc it jus screwed up big time, VISTA NOT GENUINE MESSAGES on screen, constant prompts to activate windows within 3 days, when i click activate just goes onto website says not successful, luckily i rang some number typed few codes in got it working....dunno why it was so difficult, maybe cos its OEM?

hi sorry to go off topic but how do you not have to register? cos when I installed 64-bit OEM Home premium I did have to activate it... or do you mean registering as in a different terminology?

I installed my TV Tuner drivers one time after Vista was already activated and the Tuner driver install caused it to say needs activation. No big deal really, called Microsoft and got it activated. Happens sometime, wouldn't worry to much as long as your version is legit.

aye version is legit, no point doing a big build and skimping on a duff copy of vista, holds the whole thing back...

on that matter what does everyone reckon on 4gb of corsair xms2 6400 vs 8GB xms2 6400s?

basically does extra 4GB make any diff on a 64bit OS?

I can't compare with 8gb but 4gb has been pretty sweet and I have heard many people say that 4gb with Vista 64 is the sweetspot.
