Q6600 or E8400? Need Help! - Page 2

Thread Starter
The reason for the summer mark is I live in the High Desert, Average temp here in the summer is 115 degrees outside, upto 120 though rare. I have what's called a swamp cooler (master cool) systema and they only lower the inside air from the outside by approx: 25 degrees, so the homes out here are hot. AC are to expensive and don't last because of the heat. So I am stuck, I have my computer wide open with the cieling fan running, and besides the eight fans rigged around the comp, I have an additional two large fans blowing at it, overkill: perhaps, but need when playing games. Just thought I would justify that. Thank you all for your submissions so far, like I said I am taking this seriously, and appreciate you comments and insight. Thanks again.

I'm the opposite of most others, I pulled my Q6600 for an E8500. Mind you, still have the Q6600, it's a good chip, and can't beat the G0 for overclocking. Just wanted to push it and make sure there was no "bottleneck" gaming (particularly crysis), and I honestly don't do any video encoding or anything on that machine, I generally use the laptop (T7200 2Ghz) and let it rip, since it only draws around 60w load, vs 400 load with the desktop.
