After OS install, you will have to hunt down the drivers from Dells website, get the network card drivers first via thumb drive then hookup to internet & start downloading & installing drivers. Use the device manager to tell you what you need to get drivers for.
i have done this countless times. i have a dell OEM Xp disc just for this.

Right on, If you wanted to take it one step further you could make a slipstream disk with all the drivers and OS & do it all during the OS install, would take a little work up front, but then you have a disk for complete OS/drivers install for the next time, big pluse is you don't have all the preinstalled junk Dell, HP & others put on their installs.
