5400+ or 5000+

Thread Starter
Should I get the 5400+ for 87.00 or the 5000+ black edition for 81.99
I am not sure, someone tell me.
And why too
Thanks

If your motherboard lets you change your multiplier and increase volts to the cpu I would go 5000+ BE...If you are going to run stock I would go with the 5400+
post #3 of 6
The biggest difference that i can see (other than the unlocked Multi on the BE) is that the 5400+ comes with a HSF, whereas the 5000+ BE does not. so when you're considering the price, be sure to add in the price of the heatsink to the 5000+. So if you're really on a budget id say the 5400+, but if you plan on buying a new heatsink anyway, then you'd be better off with the BE.

my 5400+ brisbane oem overclocks the same as a 5000+ be. they're both great for ocing, but you might want to look into the opteron 1212 santa ana, which overclocks better and has more cache. last i saw it was around 130.

Neither, I'd stick with that BE-2300, it can usually overclock to 3.2Ghz
