If I remember correctly,

TWC is only testing capped downloads in Texas in certain areas.
It only applies to new customers and will never apply to older ones.
Cable rules, enough said.
Cable is a far more dedicated line (atleast here around NC where I live), with dsl here, you go off every couple of minutes.

The problem with Qwest is, they say up to 12mbps, but they don't tell you how much you'll get. It depends on how far away from them you are.

Lots of people can get 12mbps from Qwest without any trouble, but it sounds like you're too far away to get decent speeds.

Cable is not a dedicated line in any way, and DSL is a dedicated line. What you mean to say is, the DSL ISP in your area SUCKS, which could very well be the case .

I have 6mb thru Time Warner but my friend back in Dallas has Verizon Fios
20mb service. It costs like 125/mnth by itself but come on, that's friggin insane!

i am way too far from them, my ping with comcast is always 25 or so +/- 5, and with the dsl my lowest ping was roughly 175

I was forced to have DSL for my business for awhile and hated every minute of it. Everyone talks about download speed, but what was your upload speed? Mine was HORRIBLE

and to star i have left comcast!!! i was paying $99.00 a month for HD cable with No movie channels, and 49.99 a month for 7Mbps internet and 34.00 a month for cable home phone.

NOW im paying 46.99 for 12Mbps internet, 29.99 for phone and 76.00 a month for over 265 channels INCLUDING all movie channels
(6 hbo, 11 starz, 5 shotime, 3 cinemax) plus i dropped my at&t cellular for 120.00 a month to qwest same plan exactly for 69.99.

its a start i know but im excited to check out the 12Mbps speed. anyone else have the qwext dsl 12Mbps speed?? how is it?

OH best of all now i only have 1 bill instead of 2...saving money AND consolidating my bills lol

Switch to the skype and pay for a phoen number ($50.00 a year for unlimted) and buy a skype phone ($150.00) and you now it's paid for itself in 6 months.
