Owners of Antec 900--> Exhaust Fans' effectiveness

Hello, OCN
Antec 900 and 1200 are known for the coolest cases. It's primarily because these cases have so many places to put fans. The main issue, however, is the 900's 200mm fan's effectiveness. When this case first arrive to my house, I felt that this 200mm would remove 80% of all exhaust air, because it's huge and specs according to the manual outperforms the 120mm. Maybe, because of its size and location that users in OCN told me to reseat my tuniq giving air off the 120mm. Yes, instead, my tuniq tower 120 fan right now is giving air off to the 200mm fan. So, can someone explain first its(200mm) effectiveness and main purpose? Is it placed to look more cooler? To owners of 900: Reseating my TT really give significant difference?

My buddy has almost the EXACT same set up as you! But He has a BFG 8880GTS. His Tuniq is pointed at the rear 120 and his quad is idleing at 29,28,31,30 and loads to 49,50,50,52 @3.2. His temps were 2-4 deg warmer with it pointing at the 200. He also has one of the 120mm front fans blowing directly at the Tuniq also.

For tower style coolers, it is best to have what i call a "line of airflow" going through it.

For example, in my setup i have a 120mm blowing in through my 5.25" drive bays directly in line with the tuniq, and blowing out the rear. This way it is getting fresh air from the front, and blowing the hot air out the back.

Yup thats how my buddies is.

EDIT: It depends on your board and what gets hotter as to how you want your air flow. Some times out the top is better, Like with my ASUS. MTTBT pushes air down and across my heat pipe coolers around my cpu and my 130CFM Scythe Kaze Junyi's exhaust it out the top.

As you can see, I have DFI P2RS(My first built system). I don't really know. I hate reseating Tuniq because I always need to dissemble everything to do it. So, please give me thoughful advices so I can be successful in one shot. Also mention what I should do with the 200mm: a. turn low b. flip so it works like intake c. unplug etc....

I would keep a flow through sys going in that case with that board. leave the 200 on exhaust and run on high( You can't hear it anyway) and you should be fine.

As for the re-seat. If the TT is blowing to the rear of the case then no I would not re-seat it unless your temps are that bad. But move one of your front 120's up so it will push air across the Tuniq....

Mine is current giving air to the 200mm. I have optional 120mm fan installed rear of my HDD case. So I'll situate towards the top of the case making colinear air flow. Ultimately, I should reseat firstly my Tuniq so air is giving off to my rear 120mm exhaust fan, right?

first of all, NEVER upload a bitmap as an image on the internet.

second of all, yes. At least try it. Since u are reseating it, you might as well try using a little less thermal paste.

Srry about my pic. Well, I don really want anymore trial and error with my TT. Expermenting with Tuniq Tower is too much pain. I always need to remove almost everything from my case. So, I need pretty firm answer that reseating my TT giving off hot air to the 120mm fan is better than 200mm.

I would say yes you will get better cooling performance. And like Microsis said use a little less thermal paste. Sorry if I am not more sympathetic with you not wanting to pull your TT, I am one of those people who are never happy and I find some reason to pull my rig apart just about every other weekend...LOL!
