Final computer build, just wanted to make sure it all matched up.

**The reason I'm posting this here is because I'm basing this around me purchasing a 4870 X2 when they come out. And I don't see a forum for entire computer builds.**

Hi, I've been bouncing around computer ideas at different forums until I found this one for a few months now. Well, tonight my cousin was over and he has some sort of computer science degree and he helped me put together the exact parts I will be ordering for my computer. I will be ordering these parts sometime either saturday, sunday or monday. I just wanted to check with you guys (and gals) that he got all the parts right and everything will work together. Also any comments and suggestions would be very helpful.

Motherboard:

Secondary:

Case with a Power Supply combo:

CPU:

DVD/CD drive:

GPU:

-I will sell this in august/september when the new ATI HD 4870X2 comes out

Monitor:
http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-...oductDetail.do

Operating System:
Vista Home Premium 64-bit from Best Buy for $240

Keyboard and Mouse:
Best buy

All in all, the entire system comes to about $2,100 USD including the monitor.

Tell me what you think. Is it all compatible?

As for the gpu, I'm getting a 4870 X2 but didn't want to wait for them to come out in the fall, so I'm throwing in a 3870 to hold me off. Will my system run the 4870 X2? I'm building this to work with all the next gen gpu's and games, so if the 4870 X2 will be held back on this system then please, let me know.

Thanks

Will these work with all the other stuff I selected?

Why do you recommend these over what I had chosen?

Are they? I need a reason for why you think those would be better.

Do you plan on overclocking? If you don't I would stick with the Phenom you picked out because they're great if you don't OC.

Everything looks compatible to me. The link, unfortunately, to the monitor you picked out doesn't work but I see that it's a Acer, no idea on the quality there.

The Phenom is the 3850 Black Edition. I thought the black edition could overclock? I've seen them at 3.2GHz before.

EDIT: I fixed the monitor link.

It's 9850 not 3850, and yes they DO overclock, but Intel CPU's are notorious for being the best overclockers. So if you want a CPU to overclock like 1GHz+ then he was suggesting an Intel. You can still OC an AMD though, just not as much.
