don't go with xfx, their motherboards are a pain...had to rma two before i switched to an asus.
I too am looking for a new motherboard with the same prerequisites.
Have you looked at/considered any DFI lanparty boards? I'm currently about to spend ~$270 on this
one right here.
do you have a hard and set budget?
The asus striker II I believe would be my 780i, or maybe is 790i, board of choice, but i highly suggest the intel chipset board over the nvidia...haven't had much luck with nvidia in general unfortunately...
Last thing: My P5E is pretty beast -- 45nm support, ddr3 support (along with ddr2), dual x16 lanes, stable OCer (xeon Q6600 equivalent @ 3.4, and thats not really even pushing it, and i've seen people get lower clocked xeons to over 4ghz).
Of course, the P5E is the "lower" end of the asus X38 series lineup. You can definitely get something more expensive, but its up to you.Edited by x7337H - 6/13/08 at 5:44am
