Ok, first - take all the tickrates and make them 66tick. Do not do 100tick, they are just gimmicks. Valve themselves have admitted it, 100tick does not lead to any performance increase at all.

Anything above 66tick does nothing special. Tick refers the the packets of information to and from the server, and EVERY player would need to set their rates to specific numbers on 100tick server if they wish to seek some benefit. Which they will NOT gain. It's a gimmick.

33tick to 66tick will be a major difference. Change everything to 66tick.
And fps_max really doesn't affect much. Server defaults are fps_max 300.
I think I used to have one of the other versions of that router. Will the WRT54GL Linksys have enough throughput ?

Well the schrim server has to be 100tick, as that is in the Cal rules.

I may change the zombie up to 66tick if I see that it does not lag down the server to much when it is full 40 players plus 15 or so zombie bots could really use up a lot of resources. (my old zombie servers ran at 28 tick, and they actually ran pretty damn good with 40 players and 40+bots)

I will look into keeping the fps_max at 300, I am getting a lot of mixed info about that one.

I am sure that my Internet connection can handle the upload bandwidth I will need, as I doubt all four server will be full at one time.

As for my server having enough processing power to do it, I have no clue.

And the pings on these servers that others will get, I don't know.

My old server that I ran out of my friends house had two zombie mod servers, a Scrim server, and a public server. He had 2mps up Internet. And everybody usually got an excellent ping 80<. The zombie servers were almost always full as well. We had the maps and other downloads hosted on a GoDaddy web server (which I plan to do something similar for this one).
Worry about connection last, you need a CPU. Your over estimating what a Single Pentium can hold. I reckon it might hold only the scrim and like half the public. Chances are he has a Dual Core or Quad.

I have a CPU for it, in fact all the parts should be here tomorrow. Its a Pentium D 820 800fsb 2.8Ghz... I know it isn't much, but it is dual core.

And it is more than twice as fast as my old server, which only had a Pentium 4 2.8ghz 333fsb and 1gb of ram (although it was pinned at 100 percent load for 90% of its two year life. And it was virtually lag free all the time (unless I started messing around with the server directly {Remote Desktop Connection})

I actually found out that Verizon just bumped up the speed for where I am moving on Saturday, instead of 15/15 it is now 20/20 for the same price .

I am worried about how hot that CPU is gunna be, and it does draw a lot more power than I would like it to.. But luckily the motherboard I bought can be used with a Core2Duo so I will definitely upgrade when I get the spare money.

Yeah luckily the board I chose also has four ddr2 ram slots, so I can add more when I get the cash money.

Here is what the server will have:
CPU: INTEL PENTIUM 4 D820 B0
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800
MoBo: GIGABYTE GA-945GM-S2
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 500GB

Eventually I will get another G.Skill 2x1GB DDR2 800 kit for it, so I will have 4GB of ram. And eventually I would like to change the CPU to a nice Core2Duo that runs higher than 2.6Ghz.

Well sadly I do not have any extra cash at the moment, I have about $30 dollars left (I am moving on Saturday so yeah...), this whole server has only cost me about $120. I already have the Seagate Hard drive (bought it like 4 months ago) and it is one of the fastest 7200rpm HD's you can buy, I would definitely get another one and run it in raid later on. But I am definitely going to upgrade the CPU first.

Well the schrim server has to be 100tick, as that is in the Cal rules.

I'm not sure about this, but I thought I read somewhere that Cal does not allow the use of personal servers in matches... that the servers need to be hosted by an actual company. You might want to check the rules about that.

Lastly, I'm extremely jealous or your connection and the fact that it actually has the bandwidth to host stuff .

EDIT: Oh yea, and when you have your public servers up and running post up some IP's. I want to ping em and see what we're looking at here!

I am pretty certain that you can, my old cal team had the scrim server hosted out of my friends house. As long as all the settings are correct and the ping isn't bad, I think it would comply with the rules... But I will still go threw them just to double check.

lol, yeah I am really happy that I will actually have some decent internet for once.

Yeah I will post up the ip's when I get everything running.

I got all the parts but the CPU today, and I put it all together... Check it out.

I use a quad core and host about 10 servers under load ALL day. Only about 13% load all day. A P4 is fine for what he's trying to do. First priority is connection because before your CPU his loaded under 100%, people will encounter lag because all the servers will be filled to the brim for that to happen.

Nice build so far
