Recommended CPUs?

May i know what intel processor should i purchase? working along a thin line for budget, i have a couple of processors in mind mostly for work purposes. INTEL CORE 2 DUO E6850, E8400 AND Q6600. Upon phishing through forum reviews from tom's hardware and ****************, i have found out that having a Q6600 and E6850 are on par with regards to most operations except video rendering. Thus even with oc involved, gaming on a light basis would not pose much of a hinderance for me thus this are one of criterion. Could anyone kindly advise me on which processor to pick up, greatly appreciate your help thank you.

If you are going to be using this for gaming. The e8400 would be the better choice. Any multitasking, rendering or editing of the sort the Q6600 would be much better for that.

How tight is your budget? You might take a look at the E7200 and invest a little more in the video card The E7200 is a nice chip, and overclocks very well also.

My 4Ghz E7200 handles everything nicely and was really cheap.

Yeah, a more powerful video card and a E7200 is better than a whatever video card and an E8400.

If you enjoy having many things running at the same time, Q6600 for you if you're on a budget.

After skimping through other people's thread, i came across some useful links. http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...el-builds.html unfortunately the prices post are only applicable in north american states. Alas i am still contemplating whether would the E8400/E7200 or Q6600 be more suitable for video rendering and work application based processes? Like Adobe suite premium, autodesk inventor 2009 and autocad etc. Cause the prices listed in the abovementioned are a tad bit too cheap my by country's standards. Thus i was hoping to take a step back to obtain an all rounder desktop system without overlooking too much at the ancillaries?

Once speeds of at least 3.4Ghz are reached you won't be able to see the difference half the cache does between the E8400 and E7200. I really love how much power this thing has for its price tag.

Simple

E7200 1st
Q6600 2nd
E8400 3rd
E6600 4th

E7200 is just great for the cash you have a E8500 for half the price
