G.Skill 2x2GB w/ DFI X48

Heyo,

So I'm planning on getting one of the new DFI X48 boards this summer. I love my G.Skill RAM and sent a message to them to make sure that they haven't had any problems with them. This is what they said...

Quote:
Hi

No we don’t recommend DFi X48 motherboard. we tested and lots of problem. X48 motherboard you can use Gigabyte’s X48. We tested no problem

Thank you

GSKILL USA REP
What problems could have occured? And why is Gigabyte the only board maker that they recommend? I think I'll switch RAM before I get that fruity tooty color scheme.

I haven't heard of any issues with Gskill and the DFI board. Only Crucial was having issues to my knowledge.

I just ordered the x48-DS4, thanks for the good news. You might want to check around here and elsewhere, for exactly what problem(s) with the DFI boards.

I think Gigabyte may have paid them to reply with that message...
Or it could be true, in which case you could go do some research and find out.

Yea, I'm hoping that it's not true. Otherwise, I'll have to rethink my entire color scheme.

^ Yea, that's basically the list they sent me.

They don't state that the DFI board ISN'T compatible...but...eh.

Should I just take my chances?

I wonder if the so called "problem" exists in the x38 DFI's because I just picked up a set of the 2x2GB DDR2-1000 PQs
