Thread Starter
I was looking at this case fan and it makes 62dB of noise...wonderring how bad that is compare with most of others are doing 40ish dB...

will it be noticed from, say, 5-6 feet away?

thx

It's about the loudness of a normal conversation. So, talk to somebody close to you...and then at that same loudness hold a note like "aaaaaaaaa".

That will be your PC.

70dba, which is not far off, is BUSY street traffic.

Probably as annoying as that buzz you get from the TV when you have a bad signal.

You know the small hand held vacuums? That's about 62 db.

ok, i think i am buying this Ultra Kaze 3000 rpm version with 45dB...

I have a fanmate from the zalman 9500, can I use it with this fan just in case I dont really need 3000 rpm so I can reduce the speed for lower noise level ?

wrong. decibels are a logarithmic scale, like pH (pH of 1 is 10 times more acidic than a pH of 2)

so 70dB means the sound intensity in W is magnitudes louder than 60dB

still, 60dB is loud. and MUCH louder than 40dB
