Intel only makes onboard graphics, they really don't count.

That is awesome that your rocking dual 440GTXs. I didn't even know S3 had multi-card support. How well does it work? Benchies maybe? And is it locked in by what motherboard you have like SLI and Crossfire?

Well, for the time being. Larabee should shake up the market a bit.

No, as long as you have 2 PCI-E slots it runs fine through the software, it doesn't require any connectors or special boards like the ATI/Nvidia cards do.

I don't really have any benchmark programs to test it with... but they have had multichrome support since they launched the Chrome S27 in dec 2005.

How well does it scale?

The 430GT and 440GTX are not high end gaming cards, they are mainly casual gaming and HD video ready. They have alot of features on them like screen rotation, ram sharing, video filtering and DX10.1... Bluray video filtering

Neither can really compete with Nvidia/ATI's high end offerings more so the lower bracket cards. They however are working on more beefy cards which should be coming out in the near future for the hardcore gaming crowd.

They look great for HTPCs, so small and compact, yet they offer decent performance. I may have to look more into this.

EDIT: Why didn't you post this in the News section?

Whoops well I guess I didn't know there was one. (i havent been around here all that long)

I know from experience that they do keep their drivers updated. I was using a Chrome S27 up until about a month ago. While the card had alot of problems on launch they continued to update the drivers to fix bugs in, and problems users encountered in most mainstream videogames.

Many WoW and EQ2 hours on it, and it never failed me lol
