Zalman CNPS9500 -- Good for my Chip and Mobo?? - Page 2

I have used the cnps 9500 on mine since august '07. It's very quiet, cools and looks very good. I get idle temps of 28-30ºC and load temps from 45-48ºC.

I recommend you get this heatsink.

Comment: The fan has a controller you either attach somewhere or hide inside the case. It makes no difference in temperature for mine on low or high setting. The only noticeable difference between high and low speed is the noise.

I second this.

I'm loving my 9500. Have a Q9450 and have temps of 35, even though my AS5 hasn't kicked it yet. It should fit your case, no problem. I'd definitely recommend lapping it, too! Best of luck!

Yes the zalman 9500 is a great cpu cooler, definately don't get that 7700 they suck they have direct fins no heatpipe. If you want a downdraft cooler get the zalman 8700.

if you can go to MSY personally then maybe you can also consider the noctua NH-U9B, which is a 90mm heat pipe with fan... it's the same price as the zalman 9500 @ 70AUD (funny how the 9700LED is 65AUD now) the performance of the noctua should be compatible with 9500 and a lot more quiet
