Serious problems with the Scythe Infinity - Page 2

1) apply AS5 on the CPU
2) put the heatsink on the CPU
3) turn the heatsink a bit to spread the compound
4) secure the heatsink to the mobo

**IMPORTANT! The CPU should never break contact with the heatsink!

Was your old heatsink lapped? I doubt it, because you haven't mentioned anything about it, but people forget sometimes

even tough its HELL, i'll try to re-aplly the AS5 like you said.
any other reason mentioned here is probably irrelevant because im 100% certein i did everything else as it should be.

btw my F7P was'nt lapped, nor does the infinity, though maybe someday ^^

OK! i reassembled my whole computer, wich was as i said, HELL.
second time around with the infinity was much easier, unlike last time when it almost painted my case red.
i apllied the AS5 as a thin line and mounted the infinity, i think i found the problem, though im not sure it happend the first time, one of the clips wasnt fully pressed down, something i bearly found out.

anyway, 45-50 degrees idle, 50-55 prime load.
definitely better, tough i was hoping for 5-7 degrees lower, and i still wanna overclok it to something like 3-3.2
thank you everyone for helping me alot.

now, any advice on how to get lower temps?
