Can this Radiator......... - Page 2

Correct. Shrouds help reduce the "dead zone" effect of fans when they are close to the radiator. This is caused by the motor in the middle of the fan blocking a lot of the airflow.

yes - kinda. Because there is that center piece on the fan, no air is flowing right there. So if the fan is right against the radiator, no air is flowing through the part of the radiator right under that dead spot.

Edit: Beaten... ... But the ideal distance is 1.5" (38mm), but lesser distances still help. Ira-k saw 1-3C improvements with much thinner shrouds that he used in his testing.

If you get a BIX you need higher cfm fans, a BIX works best with 100+cfm....These are what I use on mine.115 Pana-S/W..You might get away with these...86cfm Pana.

I'd use a shroud for sure with one, its the cheapest several C gain you can get...

..Poll: Push or pull configuration for Radiators

...This is on my GTX, but a BIX will respond well to shrouds also..Part 1- 480 GTX Temp's with and with-out shrouds

The shroud works almost like a funnel. If you put your hands closer to a fan you will notice there isn't much air in the middle. As you go farther you can feel it. The shroud does that and it will also trap air to go directly to the radiator.

Ace or TruValue both have good screw selections.

The Fuzion GPU block is a good one, it fairly restrictive though, I'd go with a Swifty 60 and ram sinks, you will get better flow with it and since you have a multi-block loop it will help.Swifty 60..Swifty 60 Ram Sinks. It will cool about as well and wont hurt your flow as much as the Fuzion GPU block...The Fuzion is a real good one for a GPU only loop...

I like this tubing a lot better then I do Tygon and its a lot cheaper, I just change out all my tubing every-time I clean my loop..7/16x5/8"...You use it on 1/2" barbs, it fits tighter so you have less chance of leaks, flows about as well as the full size and is a little more compact.I don't know if they have it where your shopping or not...This for the full size tube...1/2x3/4"

Here are the e-tailers I use the most, they are a little cheaper then Performance PC's....
