3.2 on 1.392 voltage a load of crap same as that 3.7 Hz one CPU clock at 212 for the 9850 it maxes out at 210 and how long did these run for . First thing I did is see what CPU clock head room the 9850 gets and it is no much may get u up to the equivalent to 1 more multiplier but that would be it, I have check this on water too.
It will run on water at 3.2 easily but the voltage is got to be around 4.92 to 5.02 for this to work load temp was about 35 tried it every way with multiplier and the bus speed and at the end both together and could not get it past 3.2 and have it past all stability tests. That was with 2 pumps 4 rads water temp was at 19 idle 26 load CPU was at 22 idle AMD 29- 32 it jumped up and down and all auto cool in bios was shut off.
This was done on 2 different board the ASUS 790 and gigabyte 790 and it was a little different tweaking between the 2 but results where roughly the same .I spent 4 nights in a role up doing this trying to touch that 3.7 mark made it there but crashed in seconds temp time of crash 47 c .
We believe they opened up the multiplier but locked the bus clock. we found the more you use the multiplier the low the bus clock with both CPU and HTT .We also found the SB speed spectrum does help but not really to sure how . It is a little more stable enabled then disable and we found between the setting sometimes it would turn off or to disable Safety feature? We are not sure.
Any one thinks they got this over 3.2 show me the video or a least a screen shot with real prof not just CPUZ give me screen shots of 3D mark or something ,you do know that print screen button use it and copy to paint under edit .
Oh also AMD over drive has still yet a few bugs it will not detected proper voltage if you set it in bios . It will show 1.3 no matter what it is set at in bios . When you change it in OD it will just add to your bios setting then and you will find it will be what you have in bios + what is set in AMD OD . We had a hell of a time with this because we did use OD to check our settings before we put them in the bios so we could fully test it. OD is good though we found , If it locks up hit restart button and blammo back to normal or what ever you had set in bios./
I'm not really saying they are laing but it is hear say until you see real prof and CPUZ is not even close look in my profile pics now that is prof
By the way the price of this was 1 dead 9850 and a dead pare of ram sticks rated for 1200 MHz @ 2.5v. We did try some old school clocking we down clock ram to 800 and up the bus bad choice LOL the good out come of all this is that we manage to keep one 9850 alive and it now is running on air @ 3.001 ghz voltage 1.504 volts will try to take voltage down to see if it can go down but we are faithful that is it's sweet spot because I can run 3.2 on that with air but temps spike when under heavy loads it does past all tests ,running Thermalright 120 ultra and there isn't much cooler then that and yes with 2 fans on it 1 bottom 1 top of heat seek whole time case temp didn't go above 35c with air cooled antec 900 with all fans maxed ,by the way it sounds cool like it is going to fly.Edited by ZigZagFreeBurning - 6/14/08 at 9:49am
