Q6600 with p5k deluxe Overclocking HELP!!!

Thread Starter
Hi i have a Q6600 G0 overclocked to 3.0ghz and when i stress test it with OCCT after about 2-10mins i get code 1 error, the cpu is at 37c idle and about 59c-62c on load. and sometimes my system restarts by its self while stress testing. Can someone tell me what settings to put to make it stable.

Thank you!

Welcome to OCN! Please edit your system in your userCP so we can see what hardware you are working with. Also take some time to read the stickies and guides posted in the Intel Processors/Motherboards/General sections.

Is it just me or has there been about a million posts like this over the last couple weeks. New members who haven't read a thing around here, haven't edited their system in the userCP but wanting to know how to do advanced OC'ing on their new quad?

it could be the ram not stable or maybe the cpu/ram needs more juice, increase the vcore/ram voltage,
Also the p5k has alot of v-droop (voltage drop under full load)
I had around 0.800v v-droop first (stable idle but on load errors), after mod 0.100v,

link to voltage mod:

after the mod the idle temps gonna be higher then first

get to know some basic stuff, then go advanced and practise...saying this for you, cause you won`t like to harm your components or kill them...
also, see on the manufacturers site what are recomended timings for that memory...

Run CPU-Z and click on the memory tab. See what Mhz your memory is running at. If it is at 400MHz, then that is DDR2 800 (Double Date Rate). But if it is running way higher, then you need to adjust your memory divider in bios. The lowest you can ever set the divider is 2/1 (with FSB). So you can run a 400 FSB and be able to set itto DDR2 800. As you can see, the FSB increase directly affects your RAM's overclock.
