Need Help With Overclock

Thread Starter
Ok. I have overclocked my
AMD 6000x2 (liquid cooling) to 3450mhz with 1.45V core 300x11.5
1200Mhz Crucial Ballistix @ 5-5-5-15-20 1t 2.2V
3x HT link

But for Some Random Reason every program is showing it as being
2300mhz 200x11.5 HT link 600
Memory 383.4mhz
(Banging head against wall whilst looking at Cpu-Z)

When i revert to stock then i get
3000mhz 200x15 (cant memba HT link)
memory 375.mhz (places memory at DDr2 667mhz????, memory bought was 1066 but normaly runs at 800)

This is anoying me as i have ballistix that i would love to clock the tits off and a cpu that is quiet fast when overclocked but my overclocks seem to underclock

It is a performance issue as i got 6240 3dmark06 with OC and 7621 on Stock.

My Mobo is some msi 790x CF one Am2+ socket.

Any help would be apreciated as i am stuck in a loophole

*EDIT* After Much needed investigation it seems that my PC is Constantly reseting my FSB to 200. I am not sure if this is the OS or my PC as all i can see in Bios is that it says my current cpu speed is 3450 and memory 1200 (which changes back to 2300mhz and 800mhz when Fsb resets (multiplyers stay same)) Which is what it will become after i f10 n save

Only Multiplyers that have ever worked for me is 11.5 and 15

memory i got

1:1
1:1.33
1:1.66
1:2 (current)

Have you disabled cool N Quiet? also how did you overclock it? i saw something like this happen once when a windows based OC program was used. I just thought that i'd throw that out there.
i thought that cool and quit took down your multiplier not your Reference clock.....still check and see if it is disabled i may be wrong.

yes that was disabled. Unluckly for me my pc crashed 2 hours after my last post (moment of silence please) and it now refuses to boot whilst the fans and hdd spin up fine (worlds biggest pc problem lol) so ive got in touch with overclockers.co.uk and i am to RMA my Cpu and Mobo back to them. I am typing all this on my trusty nintendo Wii. problem is my Call of Duty 4 Clan wont be happy as i am normaly the most active member ( oh the irony stings).

Ive got the father Bringing me back a new buzzer for my mobo so i can pinpoint the problem (mobo aint got 1 atm) and the mother ickin me up some new thermal paste from almighty maplin after se finishes work. I go my trusty bios beep list (http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/amibeep.htm) and am hopeing to get my p back up by tonight so i can email overclockers.co.uk and tell em where to stick there support (lol)

gotta wait till 17:00 GMT for ther to get home

Wish me luck people

Did you try a deep CMOS clearing?
Remove power cable from PS
Remove battery
toggle PS on/of several times
Set CMOS jumper
Wait about 10 min
Reverse process and try to BOOT.

On the OCing, at 300MHz you can likely run at an HT of 4x, not uncommon and some systems like the higher HT speed.. most good AM2/AM2+ MBs with a DC CPU can take 1300ish.

Those symptoms sound like it could be the PSU (same type of thing happened to my friend this last week). You might want to check that/have another one around to make sure you can find what the problem is when you get all of your parts back.

I have already

Removed power cable from PS
Removed battery (2 hours)
toggled PS on/of several times
Set CMOS jumper (about 700 times thinking i put the jumper on the wrong one)
Held in Power switch for 4 minuets (with the aid of some sticky tape)
and reasembled with the same problem.

i am going to have to wait for teh parents to strole in with the buzzer n paste.

nice speed at replying

Just a thought, but I have had this happen when my memory was under volted. Have you tried booting with just one stick in?
