ugh, turns out it seems to idle at around 45c in vista but 37c in my bios, odd, i ran another program and it gave me the same readouts as coretemp.. :\\ i guess i may be seeing a reseat in my future... is 45c even safe for idling? considering the amount of gaming i do itll probably get higher than that quite regularly either way

you know, i really dont know , i was under the impression good running temps were from 35-40c or so, to be honest as long as i'm not hurting my hardware i can take 45c, which if 70c is max, i think im good..? i mean i know 45 idle is by no means ideal, but my hardware isnt going to burn out in a week, or suffer poor performance right?

p.s. +rep for everyones help and patience... appreciate it

edit : room temp is around 30c to start w/... guess i shoulda said that from the get-go :\\

To be honest, providing you never exceed 70C under the heaviest load any torture test can give, and remain stable without extreme overvolting, it'll be fine. Semi-true point = voltage will wear a chip out long before heat will (can a get a QFT?? *lol*)
