[TS]AT&T considers charging extra to bandwidth-hungry users - Page 2

ATT is generally not reasonable in price to me. but you may say well they are on par with everyone else, and yes sure they are but that doesn't mean everyone else is unreasonable too.
I do definitely understand an internet provider being able to limit or charge people who, as i said before, download to the max bandwidth every minute of every day of every hour for at least 2 months.

So, we'll see. Maybe we are making too much of this and these 'charges' are designed for these exact people. Otherwise if we're talking about people like myself who do lots of downloading or gaming for around 4 or 5 hrs a day, then not only will their plan be fought by regular people like us but also companies like VALVe, EA, Sony and Microsoft.

I don't think they'd want that battle.

I mean, it's like charging me for using 1000 minutes a month on a plan and then when i ACTUALLY use all 1000 minutes, they want to charge me more just because most people don't use their minutes.

Unless someone is using their full bandwidth every single minute of every single day, months in a row, there shouldn't be any extra charge.
Great analogy

This is silly. If they want to redo contracts etc. Fine, but unless it is stated, I think it is a joke to charge more. This is like leasing a car and not being told about the mileage limits.

We here in israel have NO LIMITS to bandwidth, for fact ive been downloading COMPLETLY LEGAL CONTENT from russian websites for the past half a year, and no one tolled me a word, and i have 5 mbps

i can have 10 mbps, if i wish, will only have to pay some 30$ extra, which isnt alot but im just too lazy for the whole process.

That's really not all that bad. I get charged $40 a MB for online content through my Sprint PCS phone.

A gig is a lot of content.
