Look at my comp, if it was yours, what woud you do with it???

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
You should have all my specs through profile, below, and whatnot.
Do you need to know anything else?
If all you had was my stuff + a Zalman CNPS9500-AT (CPU Cooler) http://www.austin.net.au/ProductList...0/Default.aspx
What do you think you could do with it, and how... Any suggestions?
Tnx guys, i'm to new to the concept of OC and whatnot...

::EDIT::
~sigh~ I was afraid someone would say start again...
I would, but i'm saving up for a 37"-42" LCD TV... 1920x1080 - 100Hz

Depends on what you use it for -

High res gaming - Start again almost [and get a systems like mine - <$2000 AUD [with second hand bits also], and 24" monitor
General - New CPU, go to vista, Get a good case, and get a 24" LCD [what i'm trying to get....]

Also - as above the cooler should be fine for that CPU to get 3ghz+
If the evga tool doesn't work use rivatuner to overclock you card

If you are saving up for that size of a monitor...then I would most certainly recomend a better GPU.

The 8600 is a decent card and all - but I seiously doubt you'll have very good FPS on anything at the higher resolutions. I dumped my 8600 about 3 months ago and replaced it with an 8800GS. For a $100 card - it pretty much doubled my FPS and picked me up about 4k in 3dmark06.
