Yes. G.Skill has been making great ram lately. Seems like everybody I talked with has been having great success with them. Including me. They are also very well priced.

You aren't overclocking the RAM yet you're looking at DDR2-1000 kits?

Basically, if you don't want to OC anything, i'd suggest something basic that does default 1.8 vdimm like the Mushkin 2x2 GB HP2-6400 kit.

But if you don't mind going into the bios to set timings, subtimings, ratios, & voltages, then i believe the best deal on newegg is the G.Skill DDR2-1000 kit.

G.Skill really has stepped up their game lately putting out some sweet ram. Even if hes not planning on Oc'ing the ram its always good to have the option.

G.Skill without a doubt. Crucial ram has a HUGE failure rate lately, and Mushkin, while they do make good ram, they just don't compare to the G.Skill DDR2-1000 kit

Gskill pc1000's for so many reasons. Great overclockability, Great stability and the box looks cool , plus they are more reliable than the Ballistix which are having a high faliure rate at the moment as they used to pwn, i have some 1066mhz tracers that run a treat.

so yeah, the Gskill's

LOL...they don't compare?

There are many 2x2 GB kits that compare to the G.Skill DDR2-1000 kit.

I really don't understand the blind fanboyism toward G.Skill on these forums.

I recommend that kit because it's very well priced for DDR2-1000.

But it's nothing special in terms of capability.
It uses Powerchips like nearly every other 2x2 GB kit, & it achieves the same average overclocks.

I can pick out countless other 2x2 GB kits that will OC just as well or better.

Also, just how awesome is G.Skill's support?
Does it really compare to a company like Mushkin or Corsair?

Certainly doesn't from what i've seen.

Again, not trying to say G.Skill is bad, but wow, a little less bias & a bit more perspective would be nice to see around here.

In terms of overclocking, volts needed to overclock, temps, failure rate, looks, RMA, technical support, and price. These are areas where this kit beats the others. It's not fanboyism, its getting a better product for the same price.
