Laptop Graphics cards......

Thread Starter
I'm looking at two laptops next year for college. One is ATI, one is NVIDIA. First, tell me if I'm stupid for wanting either, and then tell me what the difference is between the cards...which is better...etc.

NVIDIA: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834146444

ATI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834101154

Tell me if they're both crap, but post reasons please.

I always tell people to be wary of any laptop graphics card. Without cleaning your laptop and making sure it won't overheat you will have an expensive paperweight (trust me, I know). Not sure if this still applies, but to judge a laptop graphics card, you can't look at its desktop version. My Mobility Radeon X1800 does not perform as good as a desktop Radeon X1800, rather somewhere between an X1600 and X1800. So look at their desktop counterparts and imagine slightly worse performance for a good comparison on laptop cards. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
