Guys I have to admit I'm havin some serious trouble with my machine...I am running Vista and can post with almost everything you guys have tried in this thread and many of my own settings, but I can never load Vista. Then, when I do get all the way to Vista I realize that my bus speed or multiplier has been reset at 200 or 12.5. I have AI suite installed but wasn't using it and decided to uninstall it but I'm lost.

make sure that cool and quiet is not enabled. None of those options should be on. I am not familiar with your board but I am sure there is something holding you back. I would clear cmos and try that. then turn the multi to 14. that is the most stable clock at very low temps. 38c on idle.

See that's what I've been thinking....The Crosshair II has all kinds of "overclocking features" which I think resets what I do....However when I try anything above a 13 multiplier it won't get to windows or else it will show up as 12.5.....I'll have to look into my manual more and I don't have spread spectrum control enabled....I also have the option to disbable CPU instruction fetch but I'm pretty sure I don't wanna do that

Also, not to continue like bringing stuff up but I've been some recurring symptoms.....sometimes when I attempt to overclock and change just my multiplier, my LAN just stops working....granted it's a quick fix but still odd in my opinion. Other times When I get to the windows loading bar boot logo it just keeps going and going...other times it freezes and other times it fades in and locks....I've reset the CMOS many times starting fresh and have the most current revision of my BIOS yet I still get a blue screen sometimes saying a clock interrupt was not received within the allocated time, while other times windows won't load due to checksum errors and it tells me to reload Vista, which I'd prefer not to do as Vista is fine otherwise.....If you guys are interested in helping I can post my various notes on exactly what happens with what setttings

Hey Guys

I just burned my 6000+ by Overclocking it to 3500Mhz using 1.57v. It worked fine even with games for 3 days and then ...
My computer shuts down and now it doesn't want to start.

Anyway, i want to buy a new processor now and i am thinking about the 9850. So, Is it good? Do you recommend me to buy it ?
