for a budget of 1000USD i dont think he should spend more than 100-120 bucks on a case... it would make a lot more sense to get sturdy case like the CM 690 or the Antec 900 which is on offer now for 75USD (thought the offer is only for the weekend...

I'm not really a fan of the 900, although i did consider it, it just has too many things i dont' want (not toolless, top PSu, etc) and i'm trying to avoid it. When i first saw the NZXT i was kind of sceptical since i've never heard of them before, but as i looked over the case more it started to grow on me.

I didn't know the 8800GTS was actually better than the GT (backwards to the old days of 6xxx and 7xxx and i haven't followed new gens cards too closely) thx for the heads up. Looks like a good deal to me.

I'm not a fan of the armor. Does anyone acutally see anythign WRONG with this case??? I sort like it, and i think it should be great for a "must be air-cooled" guy like me.
The Dfi motherboard you linked is not Sli compadible or Crossfire. If you want to go Sli i sudjext getting a 750i mobo or 780i and sli 2x Evga 8800GTS G92 512mb card. the Armors are quite big but the little Brother the MX+ is smaller but still big enough to hold big stuff. I owuld really reccomend the Lian Li even if it diesnt have a side panel fan or vent. IT was said that having a side panel fan messes with air flow. So the Lian Li i linked is a great one.

That Evga 750i is a great board. It overclocks well and supports sli with both lanes on x16. Good choice

So i'm now on the fence again. I've gotten my hardware fairly narrowed down, but i'm unsure where to go now.

I'm really a big fan of DFI and have had great experience with them, the included audio card works great and is something i'd like to have, and i've always been curious about these newer gen ATI cards, so i'm really pondering this combo.

DFI LP LT P35 LGA 775 Intel P35 Intel Motherboard
MSI OC Radeon HD 3870 512MB GDDR4 PCI

Then again, i've always owned NVidia GPU's and they've never let me down. The EVGA looks like a rock solid board, but is a bit more expensive, and the 8800 is more expensive as well.

EVGA LGA 775 750i SLI ATX Intel Motherboard
XFX 8800GTS 512MB

I'm purchasing a new 22" wide from Acer (great deal $199.00 on newegg for the weekend, 2500:1 contract 5ms response time) and will be running a 19" Acer in tandem. My thinking is that the performace of either setup should be pretty close to the other, so based on my personal likes of the DFI, cheaper cost of the DFI&ATI Combo, and curiosity, i'm very seriously leaning towards that combo. Thoughts? Comments? Your personal choice of those 2 combos?

Well if your ogna go for Dual gpu in the future i would get a X38 Motherboard from Dfi and get 2x HD4850 when they come out. there $200 and there cheaper then 2 8800GTS sli'ed together and have better performance.
