I think a Q6600 would be a better choice and cheaper.

yeah, i'm an amd fan i would say go with the q6600. just make sure to get the G0 stepping.

Intel Q6600, but if gaming it really depends on vid card unless you are gaming at 1024x768

Hey be different go with a 9850 and love the challenge making it 3ghz. It is a great CPU. Who wants to be like every other joe with a 3.5ghz Q6600 woo hoo.

I second that. I haven't really seen a huge performance gain after 3ghz (unless folding)

But for gaming after 3ghz I haven't seen much of a difference.

I'm almost sure Intel would be the smarter solution, but if I had the choice I would get the Phenom, don't know why.....i guess it's just the "black" in the name, the unblocked multiplier, the amd logo .

Go against the grain and get the Phenom. As someone that uses alot of my PC, I can testify that this CPU can do alot of work at once.
