DDR3 not reading right?

Thread Starter
I've got 4X1GB of DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 that should be reading at 1600 MHz and in the BIOS it says 1333 MHz!?

ALSO, the latency is reading 9-9-9-24 and it should be 7-7-7-18?

You have to set Mem to 1600 manual but I don´t know if it works with FSB 1066, you may have to set your Multi to 9 and FSB to 1600 and bring up your CPU volt to ~1,40.

And then set your mem to 1600 and timing to manual 7-7-7-18 and you may have to bring up your mem volt to what is recommended.

Then you get CPUspeed 3,2GHz and Memspeed 1600@7-7-7-18.

The reason you must set everything manually is if they set the timings or speed too fast and either the board or something else can't handle you won't be able to POST so the RAM manufacturer sets it with looser timings and slower speeds so you can get into the BIOS. Then you can work with them. If they weren't then you would either have to get another stick of RAM so you could get to the BIOS or you would be stuck.
Here's a great article and review about DDR3 and these specific issues.
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...tout,1754.html

Edit: I forgot also another reason you might not be able to POST is you might be in the wrong strap. That's another reason they set the speed slower than it's rated for. You may also notice you'll have to set your RAM voltage manually because most of the time default voltage for DDR3 is 1.5v and most need to have more voltage.

Are you sure that the memory timing is set manual to 7-7-7-18 in BIOS.

Give us a pic of the memory setting from BIOS.
