Any P45s in the House?

Thread Starter
I'm wondering because I'll be getting a Biostar P45 soon, and hope that other people, with more knowledge of the board than me, can help me learn all the ins and outs of the chipset.

I realize that the Biostar is a bit obscure, but I've heard that they are quality overclocking motherboards.

Does anybody have an ASUS P5Q, specifically a P5Q-Pro?

I hunger for knowledge of these boards...

Well the P45 is basically just P35 with more PCI-E lanes, so all the same tricks should apply.

And relax, that Biostar board is going to be great.

they do, but only in x8 x8

Their major selling point is their OC capability (at least with the Biostar), in excess of 600FSB, albeit with E8500s.

8/8 @ PCIe 2.0 pretty much equals 16/16. I would get an ASUS P5Q Deluxe. It's not that much more expensive and the only one that I know of that has died, died at 605FSB on LN2.

I'm not too sure if you saw what I saw but the guy at XS who has the board you like got great clocks with insane voltage. In my opinion, that is a sign that there was no other way to get the same clocks as that member is an experienced OCer.
