You are correct sir. The new 177.34 drivers are giving + 50%- increase in performance. Expect those numbers to jump significantly. The GTX 280 may just be the beast we've been waiting for.

i guess this will be probably the second last time we see such great performance increases resulting from driver optimisations...

well, good for them... looks like they'll possibly be making a shedload of cash with the sales of these cards. When do we get more solid info on the GTX 260, though?

The way I understand it is that ATI cards preform better in 3Dmark.

Thank you so much Rob, have fun gaming around for hours with 3d mark vantage or it's equivalent.

BTW I pulled a 40,000+ on 3dmark 2001se the other day - LOL

( I don't blame you the 3870 + x2 version is still selling - but the 3dmark deal is not exactly a real world gaming equivalent as we have recently seen)
PS- Yes I've seen the very impressive 3870 Cf or x2 results RECENTLY - still a good setup.

I'm just happier than a stuck pig to see a 260 sli benchmark chart- since they are so exceeddingly rare....
( I guess keeping "competition alive" by omitting them is a wise thing to do for most all the review sites )
