Exactly. Besides, it's not like i'm ditching the intel rig altogether, just temporarily demoting it so i can have some fun with a phenom.

Anyways, I'm definitely leaning towards the DFI 790FX LP UT But should i wait until the SB750 south bridge is released, or just buy now?

i can't wait to jump on back with AMD, intel sucks to me, but hey its The fastest right now for the cash i mean.

I miss me old AMD computer, IT ran way better then most intels i owned.

Do both. Get the DK and wait for the SB750 instead of spending an extra $100 for nearly the same board. I really think for a vet OCer the only issue you'll have is CPU heat.

I'd love get some results from someone more experienced than me with this gear. Get some WC for it.

Well, of course I'll be watercooling it, you act like there is any other way . I'm just gonna cut an AM2 mount for my stinger V8, and use my current WC setup on the phenom.

I figure since i've got some really tight RAM, and a pair of raptorX's coming in soon, (and at least one 4870x2 when they come out ) I should be able to build a killer AMD rig.

Alright, so i guess i'll sit tight until the SB750 is released. Thanks everyone .

It's weird isn't it? For some reason AMD based rigs "feel" snappier, even if benchmarks show otherwise. My old 3400+ with 2 GB of RAM and an X1600 pro is still soldiering on like a champ.

Kinda funny, I went to a local PC shop here in Spokane, Eager Beaver Computers, and he was telling me about a test tomshardware did on CPUs without any Heatsink.

He said the intels would slow down and shut themselves off after a few minutes, and how the AMD puffed out smoke and died after 7 seconds.

I asked how much the top dog intel was, he said about $1000. I said I just bought the top AMD chip for $215, so I guess I could burn up 4 AMD's before I even get close the the Intel cost, and I use heatsinks !!

On the SB 750, the question still remains, will they OC any higher? or still get as hot?

That bunny looks ridiculous with that pancake on his head . . . lol.
