8800GT vs. G92 8800GTS 512mb

Thread Starter
On newegg I can get an EVGA 8800GTS 512mb for about $250, |I can get on sale at the egg an EVGA 8800GT for about $150, is the performance difference really worth $100 or should I just jump on the GT?

The 8800GTS has a slightly better performance than the 8800GT, but for an $100 difference I would just go with the 8800GT, the difference is pretty small.

That's a really good review. I'm going with a GTS to replace my dead GT.

i love my Evga gts 512...... and i also have 2 Evga gt 512 superclocked that are good too but if i had to choose it the gts all the way.
It like my mommy said to me, always buy the best in your range, you get it back in usage and quality and the knowledge that you spent hte extra and got the best!

i would do what i am doing. Stick with your gts 512 and wait for it to go on sale as well, then get them in sli.
With the new cards coming out, and the market shifting, the cards are to go down in price sooner than later.

I was about to say that, but I wasn't sure if that'd be advertising. I would go with that card if I were the IP, I would have gone with it had I not just ordered an 8800GT AMP! from Zotac for... $20 more than that card... *cries* curse you NewEgg...

this seems like the smartest yet, it's only a little time and see what shakes out.

there will be so many cards for sale it will be a buyers market!~

True the performance is not a huge jump for the 100$ but the cooling on the GTS is also a lot better. Hot air blowing in the case with the GT Vs. hot air being blown out of the case by the GTS.
