Water block for PhysX card - Page 2

Can you kindly post something helpful to the thread. I dont think this post is about wether the Physics card is useful or not. All it is asking is what would be a good WB for it. So please, if you cant add anything possitive to this, kindly move onto another thread.

Poster,
The MCW60 is probably the best choice as it has an easy-to-mod mounting plate.

Sorry I was having fun there..

Why not just use a nice passive heatsink on it? Im pretty sure that, that card doesn't run that hot(?). So if you have even one fan in the case it should be fine.

I think it would be more beneficial to all the other components to keep it out of the loop, to keep the pressure up and the temps down on the more important components.

I think a heatsink that you could run passively would cost more then a cheap waterblock?
But then you would also add restriction to your loop?

And the Swiftech MCW60 would work, I don't even think you would need to mod it?

The MCW60 in that linked thread had been modded in that the plate to hold it was for a G80 and it had had holes drilled in it for that. that plate will be easier to mod than a maze4/5 where the screw holes are actually in the block, but i think the 2 holes at the edge are for that sort of thing, i just hope the holes would line up.

Well the sad thing in this case is the fact OCN users are 100 percent correct in this case. 1 Aegia does not exist any longer as it was bought out from nVidia, 2 there are no more drivers for it as it's no longer supported, 3 the aegia site doesn't even exist any longer, see 1.

On top of that nVidia is using some of the tech for their CUDA which will be included with upcoming drivers.

So as you can see the card is utterly pointless. Would you keep a car if it didn't run? Nope.

easiest way is to take it out of the computer and throw it in the ocean. 0db and no heat at all

1. Maybe I already have physX games and still play them and 2. maybe I'm planning to use ATI cards as SLI is outdated compared to crossfireX and won't exist for intel nehalem processors; and although ati are getting havoc and might get cuda/physX later, it won't be on the current generation... and 3. why can't a question just be followed with an answer instead of an inquisition about movivation.

if i was suggesting buying a physX card, i'd understand why people bother writing this stuff, but I already have one, what do I lose from putting it in a free PCI slot.

well...space lol j/k
i don`t know much about these cards, but i do think a passive cooler or a little fan would be enough.
but if u really want to WC it, maybe you could measure the spaces between the holes and look for a Northbridge cooler.
most of them are able to change size, aand they`re not very restrictive
or am i just thinking a bit too simple
