After only the name was guaranteed, then highly soluble pictures emerged, performance data oozed, which were revealed final clock rates, the world over CUDA and the GPGPU performance were astonished, a 2D-Stromsparmodus in the discussion were, a new Nvidia demo were sighted, architecture improvements were listed, first maps in the trade stood and were acquisitionable, yesterday briefly a comprehensive Review on-line were placed, ask themselves one: What gives to actually still say it? Now: The Review of yesterday was not only few hours of on-line and we had the opportunity to read the article completely. There is however in the meantime a set of user reports, which sometimes even - finally is it their dearest piece - somewhat more near look than the testers of a large hardware platform. One of the questions, which one could place oneself after the Review, was whether the Geforce GTX would receive now truly a 2D-Stromparmodus. Because the current consumption in the Idle was constantly and far in relation to the past generation (ex. 9800 GTX) from the 25 Watts particularly specified. An older driver was used, yet the rumors went from the front loosely.

A user from nV the News forum, who calls a GTX 280 its own, could prove now on the basis a Screenshots the 2D-Stromspardmous. Therefore the map clocks in a state of rest from 600/1300/1100 MHz to 300/600/100 MHz down. So the temperature on 45 degrees Celsius is to fall. On that screen SHOT is however unfortunately 600 MHz high Shadertakt nirgendswo observable, these tunes us anyway somewhat sceptically, since, if these 600 MHz amounted to, harming he reason of 2,15 to 2,00 would be fallen. A Shadertakt seems more realistic at a value of 646 MHz - whether however now MHz seems more or less, important that a 2D-Stromsparmodus was implemented.

The Geforce driver with the version number 177,26, which is first, the Geforce GTX was used supported. Now one finds a further Geforce driver on the Nvidia ftp server for few days in addition. This carries the version number 177,34 and for testers is absolutely recommended. First, alleged test investigations resulted in that it accelerates for example Geforce GTX 280 and 260 in Crysis up to 45 per cent. Whether it also in other applications of the so called " Wundertreiber" is, as he is gladly called in the forum landscape in the meantime, remains being waiting. These results show however that one should not take the somewhat disappointing results of the Reviews of yesterday yet all too seriously. Likewise in the forum of nV news - however another user - now Nvidia SLI bench mark of both GTX 280 and GTX 260 emerged. This determined by means of the Geforce 177,26 in the applications 3DMark06, 3DMark Vantage, biosquat, call OF Duty 4, call OF Juarez, company OF Heroes, Crysis and Oblivion one approximately 60 per cent higher performance by SLI. That the results with those of reverse-feed zone to some extent cover themselves, the transverse comparison shows with the 3DMark Vantage in the performance mode. The user determined here 49 per cent a higher performance by SLI, reverse-feed zone 53 per cent a higher.

Due to its latter manufactured, i.e. also a daring comparison that the SLI performance to the SLI energy dissipation. Reverse-feed zone enumerated that the SLI performance had risen around mentioned 53 per cent, at the same time the current consumption in the Idle however around 29 per cent and under load around 76 per cent rose. The fact that SLI was never an efficiency king might be clear all. So badly the results do not look however at all out, finally are based the 53 per cent from only one comparison and are only bedinigt representative thereby. There are numerous outliers, where SLI actually obtains performance gain to the 100 per cent - thus would be one more efficiently than individual Geforce GTX on the way. One can assume strongly on tomorrow's Monday also a row of SLI bench mark, if Triple SLI bench mark, does not even emerge. We want to say good-bye here first times of the GT200-Front, wish a beautiful Sunday and then in old freshness with the tomorrow's Launch " Hallo" say.

177.34 do anything for games besides Crysis? I certainly hope so. They need to hurry up and get to benching with the new Driver.

GT200 series has 2D clocks which cut down the clock speeds at idle.

The article said 60% improvement, but it looked like SLI scaled nowhere near that except for maybe crysis and bioshock.
