Right first real post and its a "Im sure ive seen this somewhere before" kind of post.

Im from the UK but i have converted everything so you folks over the pond can point me in the right direction.

I know that america has great prices so dont laugh, could you just tell me what has a comparable price and better performance.

Im at my limit money wise. How does this sound.

e2200 £48.79 / $95.00
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/139584

MSI p5n sli 650i £53.37 / $104
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/125082

Crucial 4GB Kit 2x2Gb lifetime warrenty £56.30 / $110
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142403

Maxtor 160 sata2 £25.98 / $48
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/130408

9600gso £76.50 / $148
http://www.ebuyer.com/product/144336

£260 / $500

This is my first build, overclocking the processor up to 2.5 and no more so the stock cooler will do right now, i have a Good PSU and i got a P180 case so no worries there.

Any help would be nice as im buying today...well toniight.

Cheers folks

Maxtor isn't the greatest brand for hard drives..i've had 2 fail on me in the past and although they are under new ownership i'm still staying away.

Seagate 160gb *cool little symbol that looks like an L that I can't do*33

Couple extra bucks, but may be worth it in the long run.

Also, you have an optical drive already I assume? Other than that it looks OK. Your ram wont overclock too far as it isn't overclocking ram.

let's keep our heads cool for a moment, because SLI won't be a target for that computer any time soon.
1.I would suggest an e2180 with a Gigabyte p35-ds3 (I have a friend with that mb, including an e2160 at 3.5Ghz)
2.NOT maxtor, i have had 3 maxtors and a couple of WD so far, 2 maxtors died (1 was a 20GB, the second a 40GB, but it didn't help me have confidence in the brand)
3.As for the video card, it's probably the best solution in the budget segment. The next decent improvment would be 9600gt/3870.
4.Regarding the Ram, you should at least try to get some cl4 kit, so that you don't have to overclock and have some high speed ram with some very high latency...or lower speed ram with 5-5-5-15. Corsair would be, i think, the cheapest solution with 4-4-4-12, unless you can find some A-data Vitesta Extreme, but with a slight lesser performance.
The End: I think that with about 30$ more, you can make the corrections.
