Thanks for those FSB numbers, they helped a lot. I have OCd my FSB 1600 and am now going to stress test the CPU. Thanks and anymore info about OCing would help too. Thanks again anyone who helped.

Started running Orthos and my CPU got hot at FSB 1600=3.2 so I shut the test down and reloading with 1500=3.0 FSB. Any ideas to help lower the temp of my CPU other than a new CPU cooler???

K so I ran Orthos in 1600, 1500 and at normal 1333 FSB. I went to 70c every time and shut the test down as soon as I saw 70c on the first core. I have an Asetek Liquid CPu cooling system and it seems like it doenst work at all. My core temps at idle are 59, 56, 55, 55. Not good for idle it seems. So i guess if i want to OC then I have to spend some more money on a better CPU cooling system. Any suggestions for under 100 or best around 100? Thanks

wow... those idol temps are crazy for a 45mm chip. Are you sure your heatsink is seated right on your cpu ?

EDIT.... The OCZ Vendetta 2 is meant to be a realy good cooler and its cheap also the TRUE is very popular. Although i see you have liquid cooling so i'd have thourght that would be fine, something cant be right ?

Does it have the push pins on the cpu cooler ? if yes make sure its seated properly because when i fitted mine on my 1st attempt i didnt get it right and my temps were hitting 70 aswell, after a reseat they were at 55

Are you using CoreTemp or REALTEMP to show those degrees? I believe real temp will show your temps 10 degrees cooler and that is correct. If not, maybe it's the other one I don't know I'm hopped up on coffee right now and at work lol.

I'd go ahead and reseat your cooler on your processor make sure you didn't use 45 ounces of thermal paste.

So im hoping that you may be correct that the cooler is not seated properly but I did not put the cooler on. I do not have any thermal paste and no instructions on how to reseat the cooler. Any choices for thermal paste and some help with how to reseat the cooler would be great.

Can I just take the cooler off and try and reseat it w/o using anymore thermal paste?

No. Go out and buy a little Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, apply a small amount, about the size of a small grain of rice and then put the heatsink back on and be sure it's secured well enough putting a decent amount of pressure on the processor.

Ok, so when using RealTemp 2.6 what do you set the TjMax to? The temp where your CPU becomes unstable/Thermal point or leave it at 95?
