I still can't decide on my graphic card.

Thread Starter
I will be playing at 1280X1020 for the next year or so, after which I will upgrade to a 22" monitor.

I wish to be able to play the following games on max settings:

TF2
STALKER
COD4
And Crysis on Very High at 25+ FPS on 1280X1020.

I am stuck wether to get the 8800GT or the 8800GTS 512 or even wait until the new ATI cards come out. Help me !

Then go for the 8800GTS 512 G92. Its pretty much close to the 9800GTX and it beats the GT. I doubt it that you can play Crysis on Very High since you would need a monster PC just to run to the max. But the 8800GTS 512 would be a good choice.

well i can personally say the 8800GT will max all those at 1280x1024 (except crysis - good luck with AA - it can do everything else fine w/o AA though) so if you want something now go with the 8800GT/GTS 512. Otherwise wait but you'll spend more for the new ATI cards. You can get a 88GT for like $130 + MIR on sale.

Im very happy with my 8800GTS 512. I would reccomend it to you. XFX. I was going to wait for the new radeon cards , but got impatient , which I will probably pay for in the end , but im happy with it right now

prices are actually slow to drop. you have to remember companies still bought the product at the "old" price and intend to make money.

wait for the newcommers from ATI, they should be good ones at low prices..and even if they are not, thez will make a competition in that segment so GT and GTS prices might drop...
