You can CrossFire up to 4 HD4k series cards. Whether they are on Intel chipsets or AMD chipsets, all that matters is how many slots you have.

On intel per say...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...186134&Tpk=x38
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131297
3 pci express slots.
p45's third slot is a x4 so don't bother...
while the 790FX has x8+x8+x8+x8, ultimate gaming performance, when ATI can work out the kinks scaling over 2 gpus.

and those 4850's are legit, stuff in China sells earlier, with it being made in China/Taiwan and all. (Doesn't mean its legal or offical)

There are no kinks with 2+ GPUs in CFX...

The Maximus Extreme, P5E3 Premium/Deluxe all have 16/16/4

Can someone link Intel mobo's which support up to 3 or 4? Would there be a large performance increase with 3 or 4? Can tri be done or is it just 2 or 4 cards?

I'm ready to drop nvidia. Cause I could get 3 of these for one under performing 280.

Instead of having three cards why not grab a 70 and a 70x2? You can have three cards, but the third x4 PCI-E lane really slows down the setup.
