If you can wait that long, then I suggest waiting, it'll be one hell of an increase in performance.

I'd also suggest waiting for nehalem to come out. Although you can pick up some stuff now if you are that desperate. You can pick up some HDD's and some DDR3 but otherwise i would suggest holding off. But just be prepaired to spend 1K on the cpu alone because it being a new architecture and all since the high end chips come out first

no it will be a whole new socket its 1366 i think but the X58= 1366 pin will support it
