Rad suggestion please!

Looking for a triple that can handle a Q6600 running 3.15 @ 1.30 as well as a bone stock 3870x2. Right now I'm running the Quad with a Tuniq and the x2 with its fan set to 35%.

As it stands now I can run on air fairly quietly so whatever rad you guys come up with preferably wouldn't need 48dB Panaflows to do its thing. Let's for now just stick to whatever price but MUST be a triple. If a PA is 'the one' than where can I get fittings that are ACTUALLY 1/2" and not the supposed 1/2" ones I got from NCIX that needed some hella clamping?

EDIT: I'd prefer not to use a PA if possible since I will have to re-evaluate some other things due to its non-standard fan layout.

Thanks!

I'd highly recommend the GTX series of RADs or the GTS if you are on a budget with higher speed fans. It depends really on noise level and budget.

From my reading, Martins Liquid lab, the PA 120.3 is the king with low speed fans. After you move to medium speed fans the GTX comes to the fore.

Heres a prime example of the 480GTX versus the 120.3 and fan speed. Hope Martin doesn't mind.

hard to compare a quad rad to a triple rad like that is you know what I mean but the GTX is definitely the more versatile and better performing of the two.

360 GTX.360 GTX Beats PA.3 Using 47cfm YL Fans..If you want to run lower cfm fans you can always do a push-pull on your rad if you need to...I'd just get some of these..86cfm Pana..And put them on a fan controller, that way you would still have better fanpressure for the rad. even if you run them at a lower cfm...

It was more about the difference in fan speeds and how that affected the thermal transfer. The curve is almost the same with the 360GTX .

He said quite and IMO 30 to 40 db is not quite, which is what is needed for the GTX to beat the PA120.3

The GTX is beating the PA with these little things at a full 12vdc...YLD12SL-47cfm-28dBA...The PA only pulls ahead with sub-47cfm fans, thats down into the ultra low cfm...

Thanks guys for the responses and rep+ for helping through this sticky decision of mine! I've decided, with your help, to go with the 360GTX since it has performance on par with the PA while preserving the 'standard' fan layout (going into a case-modding project with a rad-grill) and 1/4" NPT threads (to hell with hunting down quality 3/8" BSP). Thanks again guys!
