I no get one thing though, why does it matter to have a high overclock? To get a hurrah from strangers on the internet...?
I overclocked to 2.24Ghz it's well good. Yeah. To above, well it makes your PC go faster?

As well as for personal enjoyment, same reason people tune their cars.

You're kidding right?

It's what we do, this IS overclock.net

I know that, I was talking about something else. I mean, why lie about the clock? I understand feeling proud at having a fast machine, but lying about an overclock to people on the internet is...lame. Lamer than lying about something in life. So I thinks anyways.

I think what he is trying to say is that does the OC have to be that high? Like if I could only get 3.4GHz on an e8400, would people look down on me because I can't get any higher? So much so that I would need to lie to be accepted?

But no, cubanresourceful, as long as you show some effort to overclocking something, even if it isn't spectacular, you belong at OCN.

EDIT: He beat me to it

It happens every no and again. Most of the people here are likely to praise you for trying even if the OC is only a few hundred Mhz. It's about the effort and trying to learn more.
