Whats the best board for OC's when using an Opteron 180?

I take it we are talking an AM2 motherboard?
It can be single PCI-E or SLi...(prefer to have SLi...lol)
Just wondering if there are any good bargins out there at the moment seeing how it is an older board...

Opteron 180 is 939.

DFI ultra D/sli/expert, a8n32

If you already have it at 2.92 don't bother upgrading unless you get a smoking deal, as pushing too far above 2.92 won't be likely.

Opteron 1xx-series CPUs are S939.

What is the best board for OCing one? Amongst the best are any boards from DFI's LANParty UT series (both nF4 Ultra/nF4 SLI chipset, ATI RD580 chipset). The Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe is also quite OC-friendly.

Other good boards include the Abit KN8-SLI (a very under-rated board) and Biostar's mATX wonder, the TForce 6100-939.

By and large, it's a little easier to find good S939 motherboards than it is to find good S939 CPUs. The "For Sale" section sometimes has a good board or two on sale.

Good luck!

I can boot @ 250FSB (HTT 4X), with the ram @ 1:1 ...and bam, you have ddr500
With my opty 180 @ 250x12 ...i get 3ghz

its like the perfect over clock for that chip, keeps the HTT @ 1000mhz, ups your FSB, andgets you to the magical 3ghz mark!

Max CPU Boltage is 1.5625V ...which you should never need to use.
