screen tearing / choppiness

Thread Starter
for example on cod4:

if i have sync every frame off, there is a lot of screen tearing, and it is also a little choppy, even though the fps shows 125 mostly with drops to 75-100.

if i turn sync every frame on, the max fps is 60 and it stays constantly at 60, but it is extremely choppy, it replaces the screen tearing with extreme choppiness.

yes i chcked it happens in the single player as well

whats your psu?
you may not be getting enough power

disabled all filterings in your video settings

vsync locks to your refresh rate of the monitor

do you have any avg's running in background?

ye 60hz is maximum my monitor has but the fps is misleading the actual performance is extremely choppy

Try different resolutions?
Also, try a different game (that uses a different graphics engine)

Have you tried it with a different program? Some programs simply do not like to have vsync on, and can give you all sorts of glitches.
